Overwatch League – Everything to Know About Tokens

Overwatch League made its return with a bang after a short hiatus and that bang included some great news for players. They brought back the popular and highly-requested league tokens back into the game.

Until last year, one could earn the tokens by watching live games on Twitch, but the token earning took a hit when the league moved to YouTube for the 2020 season. Thankfully, Overwatch League restored fan earnings by creating a workaround.

Watch on the Overwatch League Website or App

As YouTube limited the earnings, fans shifted their focus to earning by watching more games either on the Overwatch League website or on the official league mobile app. The Overwatch league keeps a track of your viewership hours and gives out rewards accordingly.

Overwatch tracks your viewing time continuously, so if you have watched 30 minutes in one session and then resume later for another 30 minutes of viewing, you’ll still earn for that total accumulated hour. However, don’t forget that you can only earn league tokens from viewing only live matches.

What Are Overwatch Skins?

If you are a regular, you are well aware of Overwatch skins. But, if you are not, let us take the lead and tell you more about it. Overwatch skins can also be called “cosmetics” that can come in handy to change your hero’s appearance.

And there’s an array of such skin changes from common skins, rare skins to epic skins, and finally the legendary skins. Plus, every bit of these costume changes comes with its own set of perks and you can get access to the majority of these skins from earning more loot boxes.

Earn by Connecting Your Battle.net Account

Overwatch League tokens are credited to your Battle.net account, so it makes all the more sense to connect your Battle.net account to the Overwatch League site. Even console players need to connect their accounts to Battle.net before they proceed to reap rewards.

To connect your Battle account with the official site or mobile app, log in with your Battle.net account and permit Overwatch League to interact with your Battle.net account. Thus, after you log in, the top league bar should show the username of the account you’re earning your league tokens on.

How to Get Overwatch League Tokens

You need to update to the latest version of Overwatch, for the Overwatch League tab to appear. If you are not sure of how to do it, just configure your console to automatically update to the latest version. However, the steps can vary based on your console.

To connect with your console, first, click on the Overwatch League tab from the main menu and select the team and character you wish to buy the Overwatch League skin for. Next, just click on the Purchase button in the top right-hand corner of the screen and get your customized skins.

However, if you’ve not bought any Overwatch League Tokens ever before, or don’t have enough tokens to buy the Overwatch League skin, you can get a Token bundle. Overwatch League Tokens cost can be made at 100 Tokens for $4.99 to 2,600 Tokens for $99.99.

Once you confirm, your skins will be added to your character’s wardrobe.

Sit Back, Relax, and Earn

If you follow the above steps, you can begin earning tokens just by munching on popcorn and watching live games. So, for every hour of viewing, you can earn five Overwatch League tokens, which is much more than what you could do on Twitch last year.

Plus, five tokens per hour looks like a great deal, as there is a minimum of four hours of North American games and three hours of APAC games every weekend. Also, if there aren’t enough hours for you, don’t forget to keep an eye out for special promotions too.
